It happened this summer - bits and pieces

Sardinian recipe

Perfect to recharge your batteries depleted after a long cold winter and many many hours in the office. rent a car, you won’t get anywhere without it. rent a small Italian car – streets are narrow. Eat a lot of ice cream. in Olbia. visit La Maddalena islands – white sand and green water the type of which I’ve seen only in Playa del Carmen. find a good Italian restaurant and eat everything on the menu – not all at once, although you could. add water and sand. in your sandals. sleep after lunch. sleep on the beach. watch the clouds. take pictures.......
Thank you Dario for the tips

Eagle's Nest
Sitting atop of a mountain at the border between Germany and Austria, Eagle's Nest or Kehlsteinhaus is the birthday present Adolf received from his personal assistant. You may have seen it on Band of Brothers and I had a chance to visit it this summer. It’s difficult to reach – special busses will take you through the narrow road for six kilometers, then you walk through a granite tunnel dug in the mountain only finish by taking Hitler’s elevator to reach the construction nowadays used as a restaurant.
If you don’t have goosebumps realizing who has taken the same path 70 years or so ago, you will certainly have once you get out outside.
The view it outstanding – on a clear summer’s day you can watch cities, mountains and lakes painted all around. Again, nature is the best architect or painter I’ve seen.

Salzburg from above
what was he thinking when he got there?

Carpe Diem
That’s the name of restaurant in the Salzburg airport. What makes it so special compared to other airport restaurants where we usually eat because no other option? Is built in an airplane hangar and is huge. Is owned by Red Bull who brought all its Formula 1 cars, sponsored bikes, airplanes, helicopters and other machines. You can watch, like we did, through the glass wall helicopters practicing 5 meters above ground. Oh yes, the food and service are to die for (or to live for :-) as the name says). Try the waffles –and you don’t need more for breakfast...

gives you wings. and waffels
